Professional Conduct: Sellers must be respectful and courteous when communicating with Vivid Seats employees in any capacity. Sellers must also conduct themselves with the highest level of professionalism during any situation in which they are in contact with Vivid Seats customers. Under no circumstance may a seller solicit a Vivid Seats customer via email, in person, or by sending promotional materials.
Valid Tickets: All tickets must be valid and authentic. Any issues that arise must be promptly reported to the Vivid Seats Seller Services department.
State Legislation: Sellers are responsible for researching and understanding the ticket resale laws of any and all states in which they wish to conduct business. Sellers must also have a state brokering licenses if one is required by their state or a state in which they sell events. Additional requirements are listed next for sellers with a New York Ticket Reseller License.
Country Regulations: Some countries (i.e. the UK) have regulations that require Vivid Seats to disclose certain pieces of information including, but not limited to, the face value of a ticket, seller name and address, and seat numbers. Failure to provide this information may result in tickets not being available for sale.
New York Ticket Reseller License: All sellers with a New York Ticket Reseller License are required to provide this ID number pursuant to SB 8501 – section 2, amending 25.19. This 10-digit number can be entered in the Vivid Seats Broker Portal by clicking "Account" and then "Account Settings".
Business Communications: Sellers must have regular hours of operation as well as a designated phone number, email address, and physical address. They must be able to answer phone calls and emails promptly during regular business hours of 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM local time.
- All sellers are required to supply Vivid Seats with an emergency contact number that can be used to reach office personnel after hours, on weekends, or during holidays.
Credit Card: All sellers must have a valid credit card on file at all times. Failure to provide a valid credit card may result in any of the penalties described in section 1.1. Vivid Seats may authorize the card on file at any time and from time to time. If the card cannot be authorized, seller will be required to provide an alternative credit card or the seller’s listings will be removed from the marketplace.
Tax Information: Sellers must have a valid Tax Identification Number or Social Security Number on file with Vivid Seats at all times. Vivid Seats will use this information solely for the issuance of IRS Form 1099-K where required by the law. If you believe you are exempt from US tax reporting, please contact Vivid Seats.
